Artist Statement

When i am inspired, everything i see is amplified. The colors of the lanscape are vivid . The mood is dramatic. The light has a way of capturing my attention. It is in this state of enlightenment that i am compelled to create. The significance in my work is driven by the emotional response i experience throughout my day in that altered sight. It is as if someone has hit the contrast button on life and i can not help but absorb it like a sponge. It is a passing vision that can last for minutes or days at a time. If i am lucky. Outside of thiS state i feel my work is lifeless and dull. To me the real gift is the sight to be able to see something average and impose it in a way that makes it magnificent. I am chanelling something greater than myself and more honest than my own attempt at imitation. My work is life interpreted in an emotional sense within a tangible realm. It is every bit of me in a moment. Emotions are fleeting and the atmosphere is where it all comes to be. I strive to glorify the tone that speaks to me. Ambiance is everything.
